Guru Gobind Singh ji was tenth guru of Sikhs, who was born at Patna Sahib (Bihar) on Poh Sudi 7 (ਪੋਹ ਸੁਦੀ ਸਤਵੀਂ). ਅੱਠਵੇਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਏ ਜੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅੰਤਮ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਚਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ 'ਬਾਬਾ ਬਕਾਲਾ' ਦੀ ਭਿਣਕ ਜਦੋਂ ਭੇਖੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਗੀ ਤਾਂ 22 ਅਖੌਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਨੂੰ ਨੌਵਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਿੱਧ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਪਰ ਆਪ ਦੇ ਰੁਹਾਨੀ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੀਦਾਰੇ, ਸਬਰ ਤੇ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਨੇ ਭਾਈ ਮੱਖਣ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਲੁਬਾਣਾ ਨੂੰ 'ਗੁਰੁ ਲਾਧੋ ਰੇ' ਉਚਾਰਣ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਿੱਥੋਂ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਨੌਵੇਂ ਵਾਰਿਸ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ 'ਚ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਮਿਲੀ। ਕਹਿਣੀ ਤੇ ਕਰਣੀ ਦੀ ਸੁੱਚਤਾ, ਉੱਚਤਾ ਤੇ ਸੁਚੱਜਤਾ ਦੇ ਧਾਰਨੀ ਹੋਣਾ, ਕਾਮ, ਕ੍ਰੋਧ, ਲੋਭ, ਮੋਹ, ਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਅੱਥਰੇ ਘੋੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਬਰ, ਸੰਤੋਖ, ਦਇਆ ਤੇ ਸਨੇਹ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਾਮਾਂ ਖਿੱਚ ਕੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਚੱਜ ਤੇ ਨਿਡਰਤਾ ਭਰੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਜਾਚ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਉਚਾਰਿਆ : ਇਹ ਉਹ ਦੌਰ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਤੇ ਜਾਲਮ ਦੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਸਾਇਆ ਬਾਬਰ ਤੋ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਔਰੰਗਜ਼ੇਬ ਤਕ ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਚਰਮ ਸੀਮਾ 'ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਸੀ। ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਦਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਤੇ ਵਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਦਾ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਸੀ। ਮੁਗ਼ਲ ਧੱਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਜਨੇਊ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਧਰਮ ਪਰਿਵਰਤਨ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਹਨੇਰਗਰਦੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਇਸ ਦੌਰ 'ਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਇਕ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਹੱਕ 'ਚ ਖੜ੍ਹਣ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਇਨਸਾਨੀਅਤ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਲਈ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਲਿਆ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਤਿਲਮਲਾਏ ਔਰੰਗਜ਼ੇਬ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਫ਼ਿਰਕਾਪ੍ਰਸਤੀ ਆਤੰਕ ਤੇ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਮੁਗ਼ਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰੀ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਜਨੇਊ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਧਰਮ ਪਰਿਵਰਤਨ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਸਵਾ ਮਣ ਜਨੇਊਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰਹਾਣੇ ਰਾਤਰੀ ਭੋਜ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੌਕੀਨ ਔਰੰਗਜੇਬ ਦੀ ਆਦਮ ਬੋਅ ਆਦਮ ਬੋਅ ਤੋਂ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੋਏ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰੀ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ 'ਚ ਗੁਰੁ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਫ਼ਰਿਆਦ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, 'ਬਾਂਹ ਅਸਾਡੀ ਪਕੜੀਐ, ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕੇ ਚੰਦ।' ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰੀ ਪੰਡਿਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਥਿਆ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਜ ਲਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਮਹਾਂਪੁਰਸ਼ ਦੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਕੋਲ ਬੈਠੇ ਬਾਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਰਾਇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, 'ਪਿਤਾ ਜੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਮਹਾਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹੋਰ ਕੌਣ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਉ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਦਿਉ।' ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਾਡਲੇ ਸਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰੀ ਪੰਡਿਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜਦਿਆਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਲਈ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਸਮਕਾਲੀ ਕਵੀ ਭਾਟ ਚਾਂਦ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ : ਬਾਂਹਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਕੜੀਐ ਸਿਰ ਦੀਜੈ ਬਾਂਹਿ ਨ ਛੋੜੀਐ, ਜਦੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਐਲਾਨ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਮੁਗ਼ਲ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਔਰੰਗਜ਼ੇਬ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਦੇ ਗਵਰਨਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਤਵਾਰੀਖ ਗਵਾਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਮਕਤੂਲ ਕਾਤਲ ਵੱਲ ਆਪ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਤੋ ਬਾਅਦ ਔਰੰਗਜ਼ੇਬ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਲਾਮ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਡਰਾਉਣ ਧਮਕਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਭਾਈ ਦਿਆਲਾ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਗ ਵਿਚ ਉਬਾਲਿਆ, ਭਾਈ ਮਤੀਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਆਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਚੀਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਸਤੀਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਰੂੰ 'ਚ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਅੱਗ ਲਗਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਪਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਿਦਕ ਤੋ ਨਾ ਡੋਲੇ, ਨਾ ਝੁਕੇ ਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਡਰੇ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ 11 ਨਵੰਬਰ 1675 ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਚਾਂਦਨੀ ਚੌਕ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਿਰ ਕਲਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਅਸਥਾਨ 'ਤੇ ਅੱਜ ਕੱਲ੍ਹ 'ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੀਸ ਗੰਜ ਸਾਹਿਬ' ਸੁਸ਼ੋਭਿਤ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੋਂ ਭਾਈ ਜੈਤਾ ਜੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਸੀਸ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਨੰਦਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਪਾਸ ਪੁੱਜੇ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਭਾਈ ਜੈਤਾ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ 'ਰੰਘਰੇਟੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਬੇਟੇ' ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਨਿਵਾਜਿਆ ਸੀ।, ਮੁਗ਼ਲ ਸਲਤਨਤ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਜ਼ੁਲਮੀ ਕਾਰੇ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੁਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਤਕ ਹਲੂਣਿਆ। ਇਸ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ 'ਚ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਗਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਚੱਲੀ। ਅਨੰਦਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਦਾ ਪਰਚਮ ਲਹਿਰਾਇਆ। ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਉਚਾਰਿਆ, 'ਸਵਾ ਲਾਖ ਸੇ ਏਕ ਲੜਾਉਂ, ਤਬੈ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਮ ਕਹਾਊਂ।' ਖ਼ਾਲਸੇ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਬਲ, ਸੂਰਬੀਰਤਾ ਤੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦੀ ਅੱਖ 'ਚ ਅੱਖ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਝਾਕਣ ਦਾ ਹੌਸਲਾ ਜਗਾਇਆ। ਜਾਤ-ਮਜ਼ਹਬ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਭੇਦ ਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਲੜਾਈਆਂ ਲੜ੍ਹਦਿਆਂ ਇਨਸਾਨੀਅਤ ਦਾ ਝੰਡਾ ਬੁਲੰਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਹ ਸਭ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਸਦਕਾ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੋ ਸਕਿਆ। ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ 'ਦੀਨ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕੀਤੀ, ਬਣੇ ਹਿੰਦ ਦੀ ਚਾਦਰ, ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ।' ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ 'ਚ ਦਰਜ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ 59 ਸ਼ਬਦ ਤੇ 57 ਸਲੋਕ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਗ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।, Remedies Of Shankh : ਸ਼ੰਖ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਹੰੁਦਾ ਹੈ ਲਾਭ, ਜਾਣੋ, ਸੂਰਜ ਦੀ ਸੋਚ ਤੇ ਸਰਘੀ ਦਾ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ. ਨੌਵੇਂ ਵਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ 'ਚ ਸ਼ਾਇਰ ਤਰਲੋਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੁਚਾ ਲਿਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ''ਖੁੰਢੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਜ਼ੁਲਮੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ, ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੌਤ ਕਬੂਲ ਸੀ ਖਿੜੇ ਮੱਥੇ, ਕਤਲ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਆਪ ਚੱਲ ਕੇ, ਕਾਤਲ ਪਾਸ ਮਕਤੂਲ ਸੀ ਖਿੜੇ ਮੱਥੇ।'', ਸ਼ਹੀਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਤਾਜ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਪੋਤਰੇ, ਮੀਰੀ-ਪੀਰੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਸਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ-ਏ-ਕਮਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 1 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ 1621 ਨੂੰ ਮਾਤਾ ਨਾਨਕੀ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਖੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੋਇਆ। ਮੁਗ਼ਲਾਂ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਆਪ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਤੇਗ ਦੇ ਵਿਲੱਖਣ ਜੌਹਰ ਵਿਖਾਉਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ 'ਤਿਆਗ ਮੱਲ' ਤੋਂ ਬਦਲ ਕੇ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ।.
